The Job Overview
We are looking for a Senior AV Technician that can work within Live Events to join our team in London. You should have great technical experience with a skill base across all aspects of Audio Visual equipment, you should ideally be an ambitious person who is able to use your own initiative to solve problems and learn about new technology. For this we will reward you with a good salary, bonuses, training and great promotional opportunities, whilst also working and learning from our Project Manager.
 
 
Your Duties
As one of our experienced Senior AV Technicians, your duties will include:-
 Working on exciting projects alongside an experienced Project Manager,
 Supervising junior crew, technicians and freelancers on smaller events.
 Preparing & Checking & Loading equipment for events and ensuring Health and Safety is adhered to.
 Driving and Delivering and Setting-up AV Equipment,
 Operating and /or working on Live Events
 De-rigging and checking equipment back into the warehouse
 As well as normal day to day duties associated with this industry and position
 
The type of person we need?
You will need to be a responsible positive person, who has a can-do attitude and can remain calm under pressure. The essential requirements are:-
 
Essential Requirements
  • You must have a minimum of 2.5 years AV Technician experience in the Live Events industry with a proven record of setting up multiple technical aspects of AV, for all types of events including larger productions such as award shows and larger conferences with set and staging.
  •  Have a proven in-depth understanding of AV including *Lighting, Sound, Video, Projection, Switching and IT and Rigging.
  • You should be able to display that you regularly use your own initiative to learn new technology and to bring new ideas for equipment and technology, to have a passion to learn and solve problems.
  •  You must have a clean European Driving Licence and been driving for a minimum of 2 years. You would need to be a confident driver and be able to drive a company van with a proven good knowledge of driving in Central London or another main City.
  • You should have experience of delivering a high quality service to all types of clients excellent client facing skills and good communication skills
  • A good positive and happy attitude as well as a team player.
  • Ability to work shifts, and Ability to work long hours on events when required due to the nature of the events industry.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to resolve issues diplomatically and calmly.
  • You must have the capability to carry and lift AV equipment and staging from vans to venues.

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager from either the Events Agency world, Exhibition, Venues, Audio Visual or Event world – someone who has contacts and understands the requirements of our industry.  Who is ready to join our successful team and use their dynamic approach for selling to increase ours and their profits!
The BDM role will be responsible for developing new business opportunities to much different blue chip or business client groups – basically, any company holding large and frequent events!  We would let you specialise in the industry sector you know.
We would welcome you to our Management team and for this, you will receive a good basic salary as well as an uncapped commission structure plus other benefits and a great respectful team to work within.  This position, for the right person, can lead to promotion to Sales Director and profit shares if the candidate produces the results.
This position is expected to work on a blend of 80% of new and self-generated business to 20% of business from leads but with assistance from a full-time salesperson.

Your Duties
As an Experienced Business Development Manager, you will report directly and have the full support of the Managing Directors.  You will be required to grow our revenue and profits beyond our current totals, by gaining new business as well as increasing our current accounts.  Your main duties will be:-
  • To contact leads and attend meetings being generated by our Telesales person.
  • To work with the telesales person to generate the leads /meetings you require winning new business.
  • Generate and contact your own new leads, clients and secure new business.
  • To attend Sales meetings with Clients, Directors and potential clients as well as colleagues.
  • To use the leads provided to you by other sources – to contact and sell onto.
  • To develop your understanding of our clients and new client’s technical needs to ensure maximum sales.
  • To further develop existing clients relationships and maximising revenue from our key accounts 
  • To achieve and exceed Industry sales results and increase the profits of the company by meeting targets.
  • To actively develop your Event Industry and product knowledge to enable prompt and accurate customer support and advice.
  • To proactively develop new business with new dynamic ideas.
  • To proactively learn about new technology and develop new approved sales strategies to bring in new business using this new technology.
  • Internal regular reporting to Senior Management
  • To attend regular Sales Planning meetings with directors to evaluate markets and performances
  • To actively assist the Marketing team with ideas and requests for the production of appropriate marketing collateral including ideas for mailshots and assist with brochure development and other marketing material.
  • Identify and assist with potential Marketing campaigns and events
  • To assist with the creation of a Sales Planning document to be re-evaluated every 6 months, this document will form your actions to achieve the maximum sales in the next 6 months, this should be actioned and updated by you regularly.
  • To generate business and leads by attending exhibitions and attending events that may have potential clients attending (this may involve some evenings and weekends)
 
 
Key Responsibilities
  1.  To communicate with potential new and existing clients via telephone, face to face visits, email and letter
  2. To be the companies representative during Sales or Project meetings.
  3. To maximise the company’s Sales revenue and profits by selling our equipment and services to new clients and increasing revenue from existing and past clients
  4. Visiting clients at venues across London and UK to encourage a good customer relationship, increased sales and to promote our Project Management services.
  5. Producing reports and associated paperwork.
  6. To be proactive in assisting the Directors of the company in progressing the company and its sales through other marketing avenues such as google adwords, exhibitions, mailshots and other sales and marketing ideas.
 
 
Type of Person required – key skills required
This role would be ideal for an existing Business Development Manager/ Sales Manager with a minimum of 3 years direct sales experience and achieving great profit results.   You should be looking to take on an exciting new role and make it into your own.

  • 3 years minimum proven Sales work experience selling B2B with a proven understanding of excellent sales process/ techniques, which would include the full sales cycle from lead generation to closing techniques.
  • 1 years minimum experience of selling within the Events/AV/Venue industry
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • A proven track record of meeting and selling to blue chip and high profile clients.
  • Strong closing and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of types of equipment required at events to ensure your ability to sell
  • A strong revenue achievement track record is required.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work within a team and as an individual
  • The ability to work under your own initiative to create your own sales.  (although some leads will be provided, you should have the ability to see and create where other leads could come from)
  • Ability to communicate and consult with people at a senior level with effective excellent presentation skills
  • Experience of working in the main Microsoft office packages including Outlook, word, excel and PowerPoint
  • A keen interest in the industry and technical developments will need to be demonstrated.

Overview
WE are looking for a dynamic and experienced Project Manager with their eye to building their career and going into Directorship over the next 2 or 3 years.
This is an exciting opportunity for the right person, to work with the Directors to grow the business and to be part of this growth, you will be rewarded extensively.
You will be joining an established and expanding Audio Visual Production Company during a major stage into the larger Events Agency arena.
Media Services have been established since 2005 and are being supported by Goldman Sachs business mentoring team.  WE currently work with clients such as British Museum, The Sun, Nordea Bank, BMW, Twitter and many more on small to medium valued events.
We will be expanding our business model and need an experienced Project Manager.  You would be a vital part of our new team and of the company’s growth and development.  This opportunity is expected to lead to a directorship if the candidate makes the PM Team their own and develops the sales and reputation of the company.
 
Purpose
The main aims of this job is to Project Manage events from a value of £3,000 upwards.  You will be our lead Project Manager and you will be responsible for co-ordinating a project from the initial contact stage through to quote to Project Managing the event on the day and through to post event evaluation and resale later.
From the initial enquiry this Project Manager will be expected to liaise with our client throughout the project, taking the initial brief, attending site visits and delivering technical solutions that not only meet but exceed expectations and fit within pre agreed budgets.
 
 
The Project Manager will also be responsible for the organisation of all supplied equipment and management of outsourced equipment and services i.e. freelance engineers, required to deliver a successful event.
 
As Project Manager, you will be managing large clients with large production budgets requiring advanced technical and creative solutions. The role is varied and the successful candidate will be expected to manage a wide variety of events often managing multiple events at the same time.
 
This Project manager will also assist with the development of ideas and themes to increase future sales and be involved in the development of the department if appropriate: - providing creative solutions in the form of design, PowerPoint, keynote computer graphics, music and video or simply promoting the rental of a piece of technical equipment with their clients.
 
Your duties will include:-
  • To respond and engage with Clients on initial request offering advice, and creative ideas for events.
  • To take and interpret the client brief and prepare quotes, drawings, specs and all associated paperwork required by any potential or current clients in a legal, professional and well presented format.
  • To pull together tender paperwork in a successful and professional manner.
  • To present the pitch /tender in front of panel if required using Power Point or other format as chosen by client.
  • To Project Manager events from start to finish including the planning, booking, and scheduling of kit and freelance crew, as well as the sub-hiring of equipment and furniture as required by each project.
  • To act as the central point of contact for the client in pre production and onsite stages including any on-site visits that may be required.
  • To oversee the pre production and on-site installation
  • To Budget each project and ensure profit margins are met throughout and to delivery stages. 
  • To be responsible for all Project logistical management and delivery.
  • To ensure maximum sales by upselling of equipment, internal departments, other services and crew.
  • To oversee technicians on site, Rig and operate kit when required
  • To drive and deliver /pick up relevant equipment to sites and suppliers if required.
  • To prepare and deliver relevant reports as required by Directors and other managers.
  • To review previous events and performances and evaluate and develop improvements for future performance of crew and training.
  • To ensure all legal requirements including Health and Safety are met on any project ensuring the protection of crew and clients, venues and staff.
  • To Develop the Project Management team further with increased sales by bringing on new clients, establishing older relationships and offering creative ideas for increasing sales and increasing future revenue streams.
  • To be involved in recruitment process for Project management staff
  • Where relevant, to ensure all staff are fully trained and versed regularly on the Projects progress.
  • To produce full specifications and drawings.
  • Although overseeing the entire project delivery, you would be supported by the in house technical team throughout.
  • To ensure that equipment is ready and in place before each event,
 
Key Responsibilities

  9. Visiting clients at venues across London and Europe to encourage a good customer relationship and increased sales and to promote Project Management services.
  10. Producing reports and associated paperwork.
  11. To manage the Health and Safety of the event and produce correct paperwork including risk assessments, method statements and other relevant H&S full sign off and paperwork
  12. During busy periods – to assist team with potential set ups / installation of Audio Visual equipment.
  13. To assist the Directors of the Company in ensuring the Health and Safety of the staff and equipment & recommending what is required on each project.
  14. To assist the Directors of the company in progressing the company and its sales.
